Series configuration

Managing series is a very important feature to enable effective inventory management.

To create a series, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Series. The list of series will be displayed;
  2. After opening the series list, press the “Create new record” button at the top of the list. A new tab named “Create Series” will open in the work area;
  3. Fill in the required fields: Start Number, End Number, Start Date and End Date;
  4. Press the “Create” button.

When must I create a new series?

Series must be created in the configuration of Valuekeep. After the initial configuration, new series must be created in the following cases:

  1. If the number of documents reaches the value set in the “;End Number” field;
  2. If the current date is after the date set in the “End Date” field.

Which documents require a series?

In Valuekeep, the following documents require configuration:

  • Item Entry
  • Item Issue
  • Item Transfer
  • Warehouse requests
  • Internal Requests

How to configure a series for internal requests?

To configure a series for internal requests, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Internal Request Types. The list of internal request types will be displayed;
  2. After opening the list of internal request types, select the type of internal request and press the “Edit” button at the top of the list. A new tab with the details for the internal request type will open in the work area;
  3. Add the new series and select it as default by checking the “Is Default” box;
  4. Press the “Update” button.
To approve Internal Requests, the Warehouse Request documents need to have a valid series

How to configure a series for Item Entries?

To configure a series for item entries, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Item entry types. The list of item entry types will be displayed;
  2. After opening the list of item entry types, select the entry type and press the “Edit” button at the top of the list. A new tab with the details for the entry type will open in the work area;
  3. Add the new series and select it as default by checking the “Is Default” box;
  4. Press the “Update” button.

How to configure a series for Item Issues?

To configure a series for item issues, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Item issue types. The list of item issue types will be displayed;
  2. After opening the list of item issue types, select the issue type and press the “Edit” button at the top of the list. A new tab with the details for the issue type will open in the work area;
  3. Add the new series and select it as default by checking the “Is Default” box;
  4. Press the “Update” button.

How to configure a series for Item Transfers?

To configure a series for warehouse transfers, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Warehouse transfer types. The list of warehouse transfer types will be displayed;
  2. After opening the list of warehouse transfer types, select the warehouse transfer type and press the “Edit” button at the top of the list. A new tab with the details for the warehouse transfer type will open in the work area;
  3. Add the new series and select it as default by checking the “Is Default” box;
  4. Press the “Update” button.

How to configure a series for Warehouse Requests?

To configure a series for warehouse requests, follow these steps:

  1. Access All Tasks Menu | Materials | Configurations | Warehouse Request Types. The list of warehouse request types will be displayed;
  2. After opening the list of warehouse request types, select the warehouse request type and press the “Edit” button at the top of the list. A new tab with the details for the warehouse request type will open in the work area;
  3. Add the new series and select it as default by checking the “Is Default” box;
  4. Press the “Update” button.
